Weekly Specials at the Maritime Market - 6/13

Good Morning Fellow Islanders!

It's 72 degrees on the front porch this morning, and the air is heavy and
immobile, holding in the moisture from yesterday's storms and fogging the
windows. The sun is peeking through a few high clouds, while the seas and
the surf remain flat & calm. Today we'll warm to the low 80's, with partly
sunny skies and a light southwesterly breeze with a chance of a pop up
shower or thunderstorm through the morning hours. We should see a break in
the clouds this afternoon - opening up the beaches and the golf course for
more seasonal fun, with a chance of a pop up shower returning later this
evening. Temperatures - and summer humidity, will both increase slightly
tomorrow, with highs pushing toward the mid 80's, and a more consistent
southwesterly breeze - along with the chance of a summer shower or
thunderstorm. Ditto for the coming weekend, with temperatures and humidity
dropping a bit on Sunday through next Tuesday. High tide will peak at
about 7:45 this morning. Low tide will occur around 1:45 this afernoon,
and high tide returns at about 8:15 this evening.

For breakfast this morning, Chef Marc is featuring our famous country ham
benedicts, with poached eggs nestled on a toasted English muffin with
layers of country ham - all smothered with a tangy hollandaise for only
$8.95. For lunch, Marc is presenting a savory pork-fried rice with
scallions & ginger for just $9.95, along with a selection of egg rolls.
Order any of our regular menu items on-line at [1] and
your order will be ready when you arrive.

The annual Member-Member golf tournament is fast approaching - taking place
Thursday, June 21 - Sunday, June 24. Its one of my favorite golf events of
the year, with fabulous food and great fellowship among your fellow
islanders. The Champions' Dinner kicks off the weekend on Thursday evening
- hosted by last year's winners, John Liles III and Ryland Pruett - and
the golf rounds will be played on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Find
a partner or sign up as a single, the golf professional staff will be happy
to match you with a fellow member. It's a mixed gender event, so ladies
and gentlemen are both welcome, and can even partner together to form a
team :). For more information, call Brian at the pro shop at 910-457-7310.

The pirates are coming to All About Art this Thursday from 5-7pm! Come and
meet artist Don Maitz, who is also known for his Captain Morgan Rum
advertisements. Don's art will be on display, along with some iconic
prints, so drop by for a glass of wine and some hors d'oeuvres. Allen
Balogh - author of "Black Sail 1715" will also be there signing his book,
and the ladies from BeautyCounter will be performing makeovers.
