Monday Specials at the Maritime Market - 6/18

Happy Father's Day Fellow Islanders! It's 80 degrees on the front porch this morning, and a bank of fast moving clouds is riding the morning breeze - moving over the island and revealing blue skies in its wake, while the sounds of the surf mingle with the cicadas and early birds to form nature's wake up calls. We'll see mostly sunny skies today, with a slight chance of an afternoon summer shower, while temperatures push toward "heat wave" status - a relative term for islanders because we rarely get above 90 degrees in the summer. We're expecting a high of about 84 today, and 88 tomorrow, while our inland Urbanville neighbors melt in the upper 90's this week. Winds will remain steady from the west/northwest and humidity levels will remain low for this time of year. All in all, it will be a very pleasant week as we welcome the official first day of summer. Low tide is upon us now. High tide will peak at about 12:30 this afternoon, and low tide returns around 6:15 this evening. For breakfast this morning, Chef Radar is featuring a hearty western omelette, loaded with diced ham, peppers, onions & cheddar cheese, and served with a side of fresh cut fruit for just $7.95. For lunch today, Radar is presenting a blue plate special featuring our famous southern fried chicken, jalapeno & cheddar corn bread, mashed potatoes, and seasonal veggies for only $10.95, or you could savor a classic southern fried bologna sandwich with cheese & a side of chips for just $7.95. Order any of our regular menu items on-line at [1]www.maritimetogo.com and your order will be ready when you arrive. Tonight is half-price appetizer night for full members of the Shoals Club, so gather your friends and meet at Latitudes, and enjoy the breeze and best views on the island. Sessions continue most Mondays through the Summer and Fall. Sunday Specials at the Maritime Market - 6/17

Happy Father's Day Fellow Islanders! It's 78 degrees on the front porch this morning, and a light breeze is coming off the water - stirring just enough surf for the sounds to carry, and barely moving the cedars and the nearby palms. A few isolated clouds are reflecting the hues of dawn, with deep purple, pink and orange, while a young buck and his doe saunter down the street below - oblivious to the the chorus of morning songs. Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there, and raise a toast to those no longer with us but whose memory and influence will be with us forever! You'll have a beautiful day on the island today for a round of golf, an afternoon on the beach, or a bike or boat ride - or just relax on your porch and soak in the natural beauty. We'll see mostly sunny skies, with highs in the mid 80's and moderate southerly breezes. We'll cool to the upper 70's overnight, and warm to the mid 80's again tomorrow, under partly sunny skies and a more blustery afternoon. Ditto for Tuesday, with summer showers possibly showing up on Wednesday. High tide will peak at about 11:30 this morning, and low tide will occur around 5:30 this afernoon. For breakfast this morning, Chef Marc is featuring our thick-cut baguettte French Toast, with a side of our crispy applewood smoked bacon for just $7.95. For lunch today, enjoy a generous slice of quiche lorraine with a side salad - also just $7.95. Order any of our regular menu items on-line at [1]www.maritimetogo.com and your order will be ready when you arrive. Weekly Specials at the Maritime Market - 6/13

Good Morning Fellow Islanders! It's 72 degrees on the front porch this morning, and the air is heavy and immobile, holding in the moisture from yesterday's storms and fogging the windows. The sun is peeking through a few high clouds, while the seas and the surf remain flat & calm. Today we'll warm to the low 80's, with partly sunny skies and a light southwesterly breeze with a chance of a pop up shower or thunderstorm through the morning hours. We should see a break in the clouds this afternoon - opening up the beaches and the golf course for more seasonal fun, with a chance of a pop up shower returning later this evening. Temperatures - and summer humidity, will both increase slightly tomorrow, with highs pushing toward the mid 80's, and a more consistent southwesterly breeze - along with the chance of a summer shower or thunderstorm. Ditto for the coming weekend, with temperatures and humidity dropping a bit on Sunday through next Tuesday. High tide will peak at about 7:45 this morning. Tuesday Specials at the Maritime Market - 6/12

Good Morning Fellow Islanders! It's 74 degrees on the front porch this morning, and a morning shower has kicked up - its droplets carried on the northeasterly breeze and finding its way under the porch ceiling. This cell joins a couple of others passing the island overnight - renourishing the dry plantings and keeping the lagoons full and healthy. On the radar, these cells seem to materialize out of thin air, rather than moving as a "front" of some sort, and they're widely scattered at present. We could go the rest of the day without seeing another, or they could pop up at any time. Either way, we'll see temperatures rise to the low 80's, with scattered sunshine, and northeasterly breezes becoming easterly, then southerly toward dusk, with a chance of a pop up shower or thunderstrom. The likelihood of pop-up showers will persist through the week with diminished percentages as the weekend approaches. High tide will peak soon - around 6:45 this morning. Low tide will occur just before 1 this afernoon, and high tide returns at about 7:15 this evening. For breakfast this morning, Chef Marc is featuring a delicious smoked salmon bagel, layered with cream cheese, capers & onions for just $8.95. For lunch, Marc is presenting a cheese ravioli carbonara with shrimp for only $11.95, or savor a pork loin a la pizzaiola - braised pork white wine, tomatoes, peppers, herbs & onions for only $10.95. Order any of our regular menu items on-line at [1]www.maritimetogo.com and your order will be ready when you arrive.
